Last week was an exceptional one for two of our oldest (in time known, not in age) friends. Mr. Beisbolfan's friend since grade school had a major health scare, and my friend since 4th grade was in town. What would we do without friends?

Mt. Lykaion, Arcadia, Peloponnese, Greece
One of the highlights of my recent trip to Greece was our visit to Mt. Lykaion. It was the site of a Zeus sanctuary in the 5th century B.C., and Panhellenic games similar to the ancient Olympic games were held there. We were lucky to have two of the current excavators of Mt. Lykaion leading our group, one from the University of Arizona, and one from the University of Pennsylvania. Here's our group at Mt. Lykaion.

Preview of coming attractions
My mom & I just got back from a fabulous trip to Greece; more specifically, a circumnavigation of the Peloponnese. I took over 900 pictures, and I'm trying to figure out how to deal with them. Here's a sample:
More to come when I figure out what to do, and how to describe this wonderful time.
